The Forest Floor — An Illustrated Poem by Jarrod Brown

Step beneath the autumn canopy and discover the stories waiting on The Forest Floor.

Written by poet Jarrod Brown, The Forest Floor is a beautifully illustrated journey through a woodland alive with golden sunlight, rustling leaves, singing birds, winding paths, woodland animals, forgotten places, memories, and quiet moments of reflection.

Beginning with the simple beauty of sunshine and leaves upon the forest floor, the poem gradually leads the reader deeper into the woods. Along the way are robins and cardinals, pinecones and twigs, hidden paths, abandoned church remnants, weathered headstones, and reminders of lives once lived. What begins as a walk through nature becomes a gentle meditation on memory, faith, family, hope, and purpose.

Each stanza is paired with richly detailed, painterly autumn artwork, with additional full-page woodland illustrations featuring deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, birds, streams, moss-covered stones, and brilliant fall foliage.
